Recently I spoke to Dutch radio (Radio 1 – Villa VPRO) on the developments in Syria. Al Qaeda in Iraq declared that they had merged with Syrian rebel movement Jabhat al Nusra. Al Nusra, however, denied the merger and instead sworn their allegiance to the central command of Al Qaeda, al Zawahiri. Click here to listen to the interview.
