Policy and practitioners

From December 2014 till Summer 2015, Anno has conducted semi-structured interviews with Senior Intelligence Managers in the United Kingdom on the implementation of Big Data. This fieldwork is part of his PhD thesis and has been disseminated at the International Studies Association.

(Post-)conflict zones

In September and October 2012, Anno has taken up independent fieldwork in Lebanon, studying Arabic and analysing the influence of the Syrian civil war on Lebanon. The fieldwork included local media monitoring, interviews and attending political demonstrations in Beirut.

The fieldwork resulted in publications for Institute Clingendael and Al Ahram.
